Choosing the right hair care products does not always guarantee success. The best way to create shiny, soft and beautifully styled hair is with the help of oil treatments. Check out how to do it!

Every woman dreams of having lush, well-groomed hair, which falls perfectly in place every day. Besides buying professional and expensive cosmetic products, it is worth knowing the natural methods, which can help you take care of a healthy and beautiful look. You can do the oiling yourself at home and enjoy the beneficial effects of the nutrients in the oils. See for yourself how to properly oil your hair!

What is oiling hair?

Oil treatment is a popular hair care treatment, which is designed to nourish and deeply regenerate hair. It has been used for hundreds of years, mainly by women in India, but it is also gaining increasing recognition in Europe. Women appreciate above all the spectacular effects when used regularly and at the same time the ease of performing such treatments at home

Each of us can apply oil on our own hair and enjoy a beautiful hairstyle. This care uses the beneficial effects of ingredients contained in oils. Thanks to lipids and microelements hair is stronger and shinier. Oil has a positive effect on the condition of hair, strengthening its structure and improving elasticity. Many women also use oil only on the ends to prevent split ends

Which Oil to Choose?

Choosing the right oil for your hair care is an individual matter because it depends on many factors. First of all, you need to consider the current condition and natural structure of your hair

When starting out, it is best to choose a ready-made blend of cosmetic oils that are specifically designed for dry or brittle hair. It is best to choose unrefined oils as they contain the most valuable substances. A universal solution is coconut oil, which is perfect for regenerating damaged ends, or sweet almond oil for dry hair. Many women also like jojoba oil for its softening effect and olive oil for its deep moisturizing properties.

Over time, you may want to try your hand at creating your own hair care products, which will nourish your hair even more

How do I properly oil my hair? Step-by-step instructions!

There are several methods for oiling your hair. Here are 3 of the most popular.

  1. Dry hair oiling

Apply the oil of your choice to dry hair. Distribute a few drops of oil on each section of your hair to ensure thorough coverage. Finally, comb through your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Keep the oil on your head for at least 15 minutes. If your hair is very damaged, you can apply the treatment overnight, covering your hair with a shower cap. Then wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner as usual

  1. Wet Treatment

It’s a good idea to use “wet” oiling between shampooing your hair, but before you condition it. Apply oil to wet hair, distributing it thoroughly throughout your hair but not rubbing it into your scalp. Wait 30-45 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and apply a conditioner to further wash out the oil.

  1. Conditioning Hair with Oil

This is the best way for those with curly hair. Mix oil and conditioner together and work through the lengths as usual. Squeeze out excess water and rinse thoroughly after half an hour

The method should be chosen based on your hair’s condition and personal preference.

How Oily Hair Should Be Frequently Treated?

At first, it must be stressed that the process of hair regeneration is time-consuming and requires a lot of patience in order to notice satisfactory results. Many years of coloring, straightening or frequent blow-drying definitely weaken the condition of hair. For oiling to have a positive effect, it is advisable to do it once a week for a few months. It is best not to do it more often, as the effect may be counterproductive.

It is worth noting that, contrary to popular belief, everyone can use this hair care method – even people with hair tending to get greasy. By choosing the right oil (e.g. coconut or rice oil) and method (for oily hair, it is definitely better to opt for conditioner oiling and avoid dry oiling), you can enjoy equally good results!
